Alleah Mae

Almost 8 months old :)

I definitely have some catching up to do with blogging about Alleah.

Joey and I have been having such a blast with Alleah! Joey has been home a lot more during the day because one of his jobs has slowed down. It's great that he's home more :) Alleah can spend more time with her daddy. He's been helping out a lot more with her since he hasn't been so exhausted with working 2 full time jobs. Nothing makes me love him more than when I see him with our baby girl.

Anyway, Alleah just has so much personality lately. The things she does is so fun and hilarious. She's always been a sleeper (at night) 9-12 hours. (momma gets her rest) :) Just recently I've been training her (for the past month or so) to sleep in her crib during the day for nap time. She used to only sleep on me and for little cat naps throughout the day. Now she takes 1-2 1/2 hour naps in her crib which is AMAZING! I get a lot done during that time and some time alone to take a bath or watch tv. And she's a happier baby all rested.

Alleah has gone thru fazes where she does something odd and we all think "what in the world are you doing?!" those things were: 1. She used to ALWAYS girggle. she barely cooed when a newborn she girggled. 2. When Alleah was about 3-6months old she would get really mad and try to eat you by screaming and trying to climb up you. It was actually quite funny. My mom used to call her a gremlin. 3. She used to stick out her tongue like a cow to the side of her mouth. we thought it was because she was feeling her teeth that finally popped thru. 4. Just recently when she learned how to say "dada" she has to stick out her tongue while saying it.

Crazy cow tongue

A few things our little girl loves to do: 1. Scream. No matter if she's mad, happy, angry, and sad.... she will scream at you. I find it quite hilarious. Even if you kind of playfully yell back, she will copy and it turns into a fun war. 2. Dump out her puffs and have me pick them up again.. just so she can dump them out again. She finds it funny and entertaining. 3. Bounce in her jumper. I bought it for 10$ from someone in perfect condition... and she loves it! Best investment ever. 4. Alleah can sit on the ground and play for hours. Doesn't matter what she's playing with, she has a blast. I don't know what it is about her, but she likes random things better than her toys. haha. 5. Roll around... She will just roll and roll and roll. She gets into things by just rolling. 6. Ipad. She can sit and play with the Ipad for probably a good solid hour. either messing with apps, licking it or eating it... she has fun. And I'm not complaining. What makes her happy, makes me happy.

Playing on the Ipad :)

Smile & Giggling: As you all can tell by MANY pictures I post on facebook... Alleah always is so smiley. :) I don't know what hasn't made her smile. Just kidding, but seriously... she smiles a lot. Giggling; It doesn't take much effort to make Alleah giggle. She loves to laugh. She even has this kind of fake laugh that she does sometimes that kind of just sounds like "HA." What Joey and I enjoy doing by making her laugh is when Joey holds her behind the door and I pop out.. she will just giggle like crazy. We have so much fun making her laugh. It's the cutest thing. We must be hilarious parents because she giggles a ton.

Bath time: Alleah enjoys bath time a lot. Just recently I got her a bath seat (even tho she can sit up by herself completely.. better save than sorry.. right?) She has so much fun sitting in it and playing with toys. Before her seat I just laid her in the bath and she would splash like crazy. ever since a newborn she loved bath time. (she must be my daughter) I always give her a bath at night time right before bed. It tires her out so she goes straight to sleep :)

Bath time :)

Pooping: Some babies I guess you can never tell when they poop... Alleah is a whole different story. Her whole face turns beat red from pushing. And she even makes a funny sound to go along with it. its kind of high pitch screeching like she's sucking in air... I don't exactly know how to explain it... but its funny.

Crawling & Climbing: Just today, no joke.. she has been doing soooo much better with crawling. I used to have to put her on all fours and then she would crawl. But just today she's been going on all fours all by her self. She can still only take a few steps and then goes straight back to rolling.. but its a work in progress. :) Alleah can't climb up and hang on the couch, nothing like that. But she loves to climb all over Joey and I. She even climbed onto the laundry basket today. She grabs on and tries to pull herself up.

Crawl baby crawl!!

Just by the noises she makes and the expressions on her face she just has so much personality. She says "dada" all the time. She has no idea what she's saying, but she is still saying it. She claps and gets so excited. She wiggles/dances while just sitting and playing with her toys. She just has so much joy and happiness. She just has so much fun playing and laughing and screaming. She is learning so much! Sometimes she copies the sound we make. Just random sounds. Like: "UH" "AH". She can now feed herself her puffs and bananas cut up. She can sit on the floor for awhile just picking them up and putting them in her mouth. She is just learning like crazy. Its so great!

Feeding herself like a big girl.

Mommas girl: Now that Alleah is older and realizes who people are and who are strangers. She definitely knows who she likes and doesn't like. She's most familiar with my family, Joey and I and Joey's brother Jeff... since thats who she sees the most. Alleah cries for me when I leave the room for a second. She tries to get me to hold her. It is adorable! Sometimes when someone is holding her, she doesn't want to be held by that person so she pushes away and puts her arms towards me. She will cry if I am not holding her sometimes. Its cute, but also frustrating. Like for example; she will be perfectly fine playing on the ground with her toys and as soon as I leave the room or a second she starts crying. I love my baby girl, and it actually feels great to be wanted by her. That she knows who her momma is. I love that!! :)

It makes Joey and I so happy to be her parents. We have so much fun with her. Who knew something so small could take so much room in our hearts. I would do anything and everything for this little girl. She is my world. I am so greatly blessed to have her and Joey in my life. These past 8 months have been amazing. At times, yes they have been hard. But every hard moment we've had we've learned from it, and enjoyed it. I can't wait for more fun stuff to happen in this little family of ours.

Great things DO happen :)
